Mental Health Support

At Wickenburg Virtual Academy, we recognize that online learning can sometimes feel isolating. You do not have to navigate these challenges alone. To ensure our students and families have the support they need, WVA partners with Care Solace to offer free, confidential mental health coordination.

What is Care Solace? Care Solace is a care coordination service that connects students, families, and staff with verified local mental health providers and substance use treatment centers.

How the "Warm Handoff" Process Works A "Warm Handoff" is a direct referral initiated by a WVA counselor, teacher, nurse, or staff member to quickly connect you with care.

  • 1. The Referral: With your consent, a school professional securely submits your basic information into the Care Solace system.

  • 2. Direct Contact: A multilingual Care Companion reaches out to you or your family directly—typically within 20 to 60 minutes.

  • 3. Personalized Match: The Care Solace team searches their network of vetted providers to find the best fit based on your insurance, location, language, and specific care needs.

  • 4. Confidential Follow-Up: Care Solace guides you through the intake process and confirms a successful connection while maintaining strict confidentiality. WVA staff are only notified that care was established.

Get Connected If you or your student are struggling with online learning or mental health, reach out to any WVA staff member today to request a Care Solace referral. You may also self-refer at Wickenburg Unified School District's exclusive Care Solace site.
